Whether you are reupholstering an old-loved favourite, or choosing fabric for an interiors project, fabric selection is one of the most important choices you’ll need to make.
With the designs and fabric options available, it can become a bit overwhelming. Colour and pattern are of course essential, but even before you get to that point you need to pick the right type of fabric for your furniture and your lifestyle. Since not everyone is a fibre-aficionado, we put together this quick guide to help you make the right upholstery decision with your Christie Lloyd fabric.
Organic Linen Cotton Union
A natural fabric, and made from flax, linen is an extremely strong natural fibre. It’s smooth, soft, and naturally lustrous. Linen inherently resists pilling and soiling, but it can wrinkle easily, making it better suited for a more casual than formal space. Our luxury heavyweight, linen is a beautiful linen/cotton union - made in England - and organic.
100% Panama Unbleached Cotton
Cotton is a soft and durable fabric. It’s probably the most versatile of our fabrics, since it wrinkles less and can be cleaned with soap and water. Here at Christie Lloyd our cotton is heavyweight, luxury, unbleached 100% Panama Cotton - made in England.
Luxury Velvet Poly Union
Our luxury velvet is a velvet/poly union - made in England. Polyester velvets are more durable than their natural fibre counterparts; it stands out for its lavish softness, comfort, texture, and rich colour options.
All of our Christie Lloyd sumptuous fabrics are suitable for curtains, blinds, upholstery and soft furnishings - and perhaps even a statement fashion piece! If you need any help choosing we are more than happy to assist you, just get in touch.
